Repost • @bodysmartfitness ⚖ This is a perfect way to visualise how muscle is denser than fat and how a focus on weight loss v fat loss looks different.
📸 (It is also another reason why progress photos are so vital and why you shouldn't be a slave to the scales).
Two people here can each be the same height and each weigh 150lbs but their body fat percentages differ wildly.
💪 If you want to lose fat and have more muscle in your body, which takes up less room and therefore makes you look slimmer, then you need to focus on fat loss and not weight loss.
Building lean muscle requires you to;
✅ conduct regular resistance training and lift heavy. No small teeny weights. Challenge yourself within reason with your abilities and experience.
✅ focus on getting stronger rather than the number on the scale. Work towards lifting more each month, improving your flexibility and your stamina.
✅ eat a high protein diet to fuel your body. Restricting calories is going to leave you weak as piss and miserable. You also don't need to follow a fad and cut out food groups like carbs!
📲 If you want to see this in action for yourself, take a look at our @bodysmart_testimonials page where you'll see our many client stories. Their body composition has changed, their body fat percentage has decreased and they've built lean muscle without starving themselves, following a fad or punishing themselves with endless cardio.
